Regardless of what was just mentioned; also used to resume a topic.

The store is nearly closed, but we decide to try anyway.

Etymology

A way can be a manner or course of action. Allowing “any way” leads to proceeding regardless of circumstances, and to setting aside a digression when returning to a topic.
