Etymology
Bet first appears in petty-criminal slang for reciprocal pledges of something valuable, to be won or lost on a future event. That wagering meaning is secure, but the word’s ancestry is unknown.
In context
if you're going to sports bet I I would hope that there's at least some um you know like you're putting some for like money back in a 401k if you have money to gamble.
