noun / verb
detail
DEE-tayl/ˈdiːteɪl/
The small facts or features that describe something precisely.
A magnifying glass reveals the fine details of a carved leaf.

Etymology
A detail was literally a cutting into pieces, hence a small piece or quantity. Commercial use meaning “item by item” helped extend this image to individual facts within a larger whole.
