Etymology
Old English hlæhhan covered laughing, rejoicing, and deriding, so laughter could express either pleasure or mockery. The modern amusement sense continues the pleasurable side of that older range.
In context
So when you do a real smile, try to actually laugh. It sounds stupid, but I promise you, whenever I am on set with professional models, a lot of times we laugh out loud.
