Etymology
Old English milde described gentleness or mercy in people, powers, and dispositions. That idea extended to weather, medicines, and other things whose force or effects were not harsh.
In context
it's either mild moderate moderately severe or severe the reason that's important is that most of the time we do not really evaluate a patient for surgical treatment unless they have severe mitro regurgitation
