Etymology
Potée originally named a potful or the contents of a pot, then a polishing powder. The English word came to name a fine paste or cement, including the soft mixture used to seal window panes.
In context
once the dowels have dried in place i'll add just a tiny bit of wood putty in there just to make sure it's nice and smooth
