A list of people in a group or assigned to duties, or to place someone on such a list.
The portrait board shows the team's roster.
Etymology
Dutch rooster originally meant “gridiron”; its list sense probably arose from the grid of lines drawn on paper. A roster first recorded turns of duty, then broadened to a general list of people.
